Detangling dolls hair

My sweet River received a doll, with super long hair, for her birthday. We are supposed to be able to braid and style the hair however, upon removing the hair ties her hair became knotted. I realized that we had to figure out a way to make her dolls hair more manageable so that we could style it.
River has crazy hair. It is long, curly and beautiful but it also becomes matted and tangled if not brushed constantly. A hairdresser had me try moroccan oil and leave in conditioner on her hair and I was amazed at the difference. Not only was her hair shiny and the curls perfect, but her hair was no longer becoming matted and tangled so we could brush it 2 times a day with no issues.

I thought about this method so I tried it on her doll last night. I was amazed with the results! Her dolls once matted hair is not shiny, smooth and tangle free and we are now able to style it with no issues. I did not take pictures of the process with that doll so I found another doll and did a step by step for you..

This shows how the dolls hair was prior to me starting:

-First I washed her hair with shampoo and rinsed it, then I thickly applied a good conditioner and let it sit a minute. I then laid the doll on her back and brushed her hair out with the conditioner still in it.

- After all the tangles were removed, I rinsed the conditioner from the dolls hair and patted it so it was not dripping but still damp. I used about 3-4 drops of morrocan oil and 4-6 squirts of leave in conditioner. I squirted both into my hand and mixed them together.

- I then worked the mixture into the dolls hair and brushed it again.

- I let it dry and there you have it, Tangle free and manageable hair. I assume I will have to repeat these step every few months but the results were astounding. Better than any I have seen yet.
